When a leader falls…

November 10, 2009 by Pastor Jerry McQuay

That’s our subject this Wednesday in our Family Night service at both Tinley Park and Shorewood, and I’m looking forward to sharing what the Scripture actually teaches (it may surprise you!).  Unfortunately, this is one subject that seems to be an “elephant in the room” that no one wants to talk about – and churches resort to all sorts of improper responses, from denial and sweeping it under the carpet, to harsh judgement and excommunication.  I’m glad God’s Word has answers for even the thorniest of issues.

So whether you have personally been affected by the fall of a Christian leader in the past, or if you just want to understand this issue from a Biblical perspective, I invite you to join us at 7:30pm at either campus.

This will be a one-night only, stand-alone message, as we have exciting services planned for November 18 at both campuses.  Children’s ministry will be provided, and we’ll include opportunity for Q&A discussion as well.  See you here!

Thank you Pastor Jerry and Pastor Chris for this. I am so glad to be part of a ministry that does not “sweep things under the rug”. This service will help heal alot of people including me and my sister who belongs to our Shorewood campus.
My sister and I had to endure this subject about 20years ago when our own father who is a pastor had fallen (hard). Not only was this devastating to us, it was embarrasing and etc. Thank you again.
