My Bible is talking again
On the first day of this corporate fast at CLC, these verses from our daily Bible reading jumped out at me (by the way, if you didn’t get your Bible reading guide yet, stop by the Connections Desk for your copy & get started – it’s an amazing habit):
Psalm 3:1-3 was so encouraging this morning – probably none of us has the kind of enemies (or as many) as David did when he penned those words, but the principle remains the same: no matter what people are saying about you or against you today, GOD has a different view – and HE is the one who lifts up your head!
Part of what this fast is all about is enabling us to hear HIS voice instead of all the ‘other’ voices that speak to us so loudly in our everyday lives that it drowns out what HE is saying. As we push back from the table or forego other normal pleasures in order to seek HIM, I believe we will hear, with clear direction for this new season.

To day was funny being the first day of the fast, everytime I began to think about food I turned on my bible audio book. While on my route, I listened to Mark and I began to thank God that He created me for this time in history. Remember when the friends of the paralyzed man tore off the roof and lowered him before Jesus? My first thought was now who will fix my roof, Jesus would have probably rebuked me at that point.
