not much to say
I realize that I haven’t posted since Sunday afternoon and all I can say is that this has been one of the most challenging weeks of my entire ministry. I’m being stretched way out of my comfort zone as a pastor, and that’s been keeping me pretty quiet.
Meanwhile, lots of newsworthy things have been happening, but in our world and in this church. I promise to have more to say soon – hoping that the first Sunday with our new service schedule in Tinley Park will be a smashing success! Have you decided which one you’ll attend this Sunday?
Finally, here’s a great post from one of my pastor-heroes, Craig Groeschel of LifeChurch.tv – enjoy!

Pastor Jerry,
This is one of the reasons I LOVE having you for my pastor. You are the real deal … fighting the same struggles we face and not being ashamed to say so. You have to know that you are our “treasure in an earthen vessel”! We are so very blessed to have you. Not only do you lead us to green pastures and ensure that we are “fed” a variety fit for a king, you also stretch us, grow us, strenthen us and lift us by your preaching, wise counsel and prayers. I can honestly say the you are a man who can be found faithful to your call. THANK YOU Pastor Jerry. I know the way is hard for you many times, and it sometimes seems like CLC doesn’t appreciate you enough, BUT there are those of us who feel as if you saved our lives one day! The very first time I heard you pray, giving an alter call at Crystal Petrovic’s CD concert, I felt the Holy Spirit rise within me. I knew even on that day that CLC would be our church home and that you were the leader and shepherd we so desperately searched for. To use an old cliche, it was like a “hand in glove”. So – Pastor Jerry, please know that WE APPRECIATE YOU!
