An unprecedented day

August 29, 2008 by Pastor Jerry McQuay

It’s been an exciting and unprecedented 24-hours in America.  First, the nomination of the first African-American president in our history and the history-making speech Senator Obama gave on the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s, “I have a dream” speech – no matter if you’re Democrat or Republican, it was an exciting time last night.

And then today, less than 12 hours later, to have the nomination of the first woman for Vice-President on the Republican ticket – and the fact that she apparently holds to some Christian convictions – again, you couldn’t help but feel the excitement.

But what I’m most excited about is this principle from Scripture stated in 1Cor. 15:46.  See, no matter what happens this November, we’ll see an unprecedented result.  And I believe that what is happening in the natural in our country is a ‘prophetic’ example for what God wants to do in us and for us spiritually!  These are the most exciting days for the Church!  Our best is ahead of us, not behind us.  God wants to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or even think (Eph 3:20)!

I truly believe that for The Church of Jesus Christ, and I especially believe that for CLCHow ’bout you?
